Course Objectives
This is an intensive and highly interactive course which will equip the learner with the knowledge, skill and competence to effectively design and deliver manual handling trainingin the workplace. This programme is open to alllearners who have a responsibility in Health & Safety in their working environment.
On completion of this course the successful candidate will be able to:
- Identify the Health & Safety risks associated with the Manual Handling of loads
- Demonstrate an understanding of the appropriate action to take where such risks have been identified
- Demonstrate the best Manual Handling practice techniques in a variety of situations

- Unit 1: Legislation Requirements and Health Benefit
- Unit 2: Anatomy and Back Care
- Unit 3: Ergonomics Priciples and Rish Assessment
- Unit 4: Manual Handling Principles and Techniques
- Unit 5: Planning and Design of Manual Handling Training Programmes
- Unit 6: Delivery of Manual Handling Handling Training
