Case Study - Transland Group

The Transland Group Ireland choose Jungheinrich Forklift Trucks

Transland one of Ireland’s leading groupage and distribution companies recently choose Jungheinrich to supply 4 x DFG425s, the new generation diesel Counterbalance forklift trucks with Hydrostatic drive systems.

Transland relocated to their state of the art DC in Naas from Tallaght 2 years ago and these trucks are operated 24/7 unloading and loading some 1500+ pallets daily which is carried out totally under cover, a USP for Transland. Founded in 1992 by its current Managing Director Kieran Conlon, they employ over 40 people in its Irish operation and UK hub in Birkenhead, offering a daily 24hr service to the UK and mainland Europe.

Such was the success of these trucks that they added Jungheinrich EJE118 pallet trucks to complement their operation. Eamon Monahan, Logistics Manager commented that the benefits in using Jungheinrich equipment have already shown significant savings in reliability, fuel economy and tyre wear on the forklifts compared to their previous supplier.

Eamon quoted ‘when we ordered Jungheinrich it was not just the equipment that impressed us but also the service support back up, account management and the effort Jungheinrich displayed in building up a working relationship that cemented our choice. I would have no hesitation in recommending Jungheinrich as a material handling systems supplier to any logistics operation in Ireland’.

Transland also part of the Pallet Xpress group in Ireland and Palletways in the UK and with plans for expansion in the pipeline for another regional DC planned, more Jungheinrich equipment is envisaged in the very near future, which is a ‘win, win’ success story for this growing business relationship, watch this space.
