Case Study - Wincanton

Wincanton

First established in 1925, Wincanton initially started life in milk delivery. Over 85 years later the company has entered new industry sectors, ventured into new geographies, broadened its services and used technology to manage the increasing pace and complexity of the supply chain.

Providing services to many of the biggest companies across Ireland and the UK, Wincanton has established itself as a professional and innovative supply chain leader in the market.

Utilising Jungheinrich as its material handling provider, Wincanton can be assured of a quality product and an excellent service back up.

Battery Maintenance

Starting in December 2011, Jungheinrich Ireland's battery maintenance operative, Mark O Neill, in conjunction with Wincanton's internal battery maintenance operative, Chris Williams, and in complience to Wincanton's own SHE 1900-01 Mechanical Handling Certificate will attend site to ensure all 60 on site batteries are kept in perfect working order. The battery maintenance ensures:

  • All batteries are tested and cleaned
  • Gravity level checks
  • Battery voltages read and recorded
  • Batteries are topped up when required

Preventitive Maintenance

By utilising the battery preventitive maintenance option, Wincanton have ensured that all batteries on their premises will be kept in excellent working order now and in the future. Reducing risk and down time, they can be sure of a smooth flow in operating their Jungheinrich machinery, maximising warehouse efficiency and safety.

Promise

Jungheinrich Ireland is delighted to continue as Wincanton's material handling provider and it is our promise that we will strive to find new and innovative methods to improve our service to Wincanton and all of our customers in the future.
