An exciting opportunity has arisen within Jungheinrich Ireland for you to join our sales team as Solutions Design Engineer

THE ROLE

Operating from our Munster Office, the successful candidate will be responsible for the design, development, costing, and presentation of warehouse and intralogistics solutions for customers throughout Ireland.

This role combines engineering design expertise with customer engagement and commercial awareness. Working closely with customers, sales teams, project managers, suppliers, and installation teams, you will develop innovative warehouse automation and material handling solutions that meet operational requirements while supporting business growth.

Reporting to the Systems Manager, specific responsibilities include:

• Design warehouse automation and material-handling solutions, producing CAD layouts, drawings, calculations, specifications, Bills of Materials, and design validations.
• Develop optimised warehouse and material-flow concepts incorporating conveyors, racking, mezzanines, AGVs, AMRs, ASRS, and related technologies.
• Complete site surveys, identify operational requirements, and present practical, commercially viable solutions and ROI benefits to customers.
• Prepare budgets, quotations, tenders, costings, and proposals while supporting sales, margin, pipeline, and forecast targets.
• Coordinate suppliers, subcontractors, project managers, and installation teams through delivery, resolving technical issues and scope changes.
• Ensure compliance with Irish and European regulations, CE and machinery-safety requirements, company standards, and document controls.
• Support design standardisation, continuous improvement, and technical knowledge sharing.
• Support the growth of Jungheinrich Systems business through technically led solution selling.
• Prepare budgets, quotations, and commercial proposals in collaboration with the systems sales team.

The Person

You will be a commercially aware, technically minded engineer who can engage customers, develop practical solutions, and progress projects from concept to implementation.

To be considered for this role, you must have

• At least three years’ experience in design, applications, systems engineering, or technical sales.
• Strong AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or equivalent CAD capability and experience producing engineering layouts.
• Strong communication, presentation, commercial, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems, plus a full Irish/EU driving licence and willingness to travel nationwide.

Desirable Requirements

Some experience in intralogistics or warehouse automation/design/material flow

Previous experience in proposals or tenders, project delivery, ROI evaluation, SAP, or enterprise systems would be a distinct advantage.
