This course provides practical training for individuals to comply with safety regulations for the safe use of abrasive wheels.
Aim
To provide information and practical demonstration to allow participants to comply with safety regulations for safe use of abrasive wheels.
Course Objectives
Investigations of accidents caused by abrasive wheel breakages and the circumstances in which they have occurred revealed that most could have been avoided by the application of safety precautions. The risk of breakage is inherent in every abrasive wheel. If the frequency of breakage is to be kept low, the initial care exercised in design, manufacture and test by abrasive wheel and machine makers should be coupled with the adoption of sound safety measures. Training in the use of abrasive wheels may be carried out internally, if expertise is available.
