Jungheinrich AG developed a tugger train logistics solution for the customer VEMAG Maschinenbau GmbH. This included analysing the requirements, exact planning and process design as well as vehicle selection and preparation.
For over 60 years VEMAG Maschinenbau GmbH has developed machines and systems for the food industry. Alongside standard filling machines VEMAG offers its customers specialised solutions tailored to their needs and specific applications. Short delivery times and good reliability must be ensured through production and logistics.
The aim of the Jungheinrich tugger train consultation was to identify optimisation opportunities in the area of production supply as part of a production expansion and logistics transformation and based on this remodel logistical processes and cut costs and resource use.
The new logistics solution includes loading the tugger train, delivering goods to the production areas and returning empty containers with the help of a tractor, the EZS 350, and the GTE 312 (E-Frame) trailer - all demand driven (Kanban) and with very low overhead costs.
Increased flexibility, efficiency and safety are some of the significant advantages of the customer solution. The trailer solutions offered by Jungheinrich allow for a flexible use of different load aids and easy adaptation to fluctuations in demand.
Combined transport leads to fewer single and empty journeys and therefore reduces logistical costs by up to 75 per cent. The reduced volume of transport leads to less contra and cross flow traffic and thus a lower risk of accidents.
Jungheinrich tugger train solutions, as implemented at VEMAG GmbH, offer all trades an economical, modern alternative to traditional material transport. Material flow consultation in close cooperation with the customer, reliable and ergonomic tractors, as well as "clean" trailers with an electrical connection and a fully enclosed compact hydraulics system form the foundations of this solution.
