Due to a restructure within our Enablement Department, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an Asset Manager to join our team.
The Role
Reporting to the Enablement Director, the Asset Manager oversees the full lifecycle of new, used and short-term rental trucks, including batteries, chargers and accessories. The role supports Area Sales Managers by sourcing suitable equipment and ensuring the fleet is optimally structured.
Key Responsibilities
Support the Area Sales Manager in finding the right truck.
- Regular communication with the Area Sales Manager and/or the Sales Coordinator.
- Keep regular contact with the international Jungheinrich sales unit network to foster relationships and ensure procurement of trucks, when needed.
Inventory Management
- Evaluate and manage the local truck fleet continuously, ensuring a well-balanced and profitable mix of vehicles. Utilise historical sales data and market trends, determine target stock figures, and adjust stock levels accordingly.
- Monitor truck turnover rates and assess the need for restocking to avoid understocking and overstocking (fleet utilisation and availability).
- Implement pricing strategies to optimise profit margins (calculation of residual values, internal sales prices, etc.) in accordance with sales steering.
- Perform price management for UE and STR business; determine sales prices for UE trucks in case of special cases/trade-in/ROV, in accordance to sales steering.
- Communicate fleet status (e.g., development, profitability) to other business departments (Finance, After Sales) and initiate decisions for changes/improvements relevant for the whole entity.
- Rental Return Process (coordination of New Sales, After Sales, Rental, and Used Equipment departments).
- Perform fleet/product segment analysis based on market demands
Asset Maintenance (new/UE/STR) in Stock (and at the customer in case of big rental fleets at customer site) and Refurbishment
- Coordination with the workshop staff regarding returns of equipment, repair status, and cost allocations
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, safety standards.
- Plan and budget refurbishment of used trucks for a second lifecycle.
- Oversee the maintenance and servicing of rental and used trucks to ensure they are in rentable and sellable condition.
Asset and Disposition Acquisition
- Order, source and purchase new trucks, rental trucks and used trucks from the plant, internally and externally. Cover ad-hoc demands, peaks and planned demands.
- Determine together with the Area Sales Manager when and to whom to rent and sell trucks to maintain a profitable inventory.
- Evaluate resale values and market conditions to optimise returns on asset disposal.
- Sell-off UE trucks/fleet/trade-ins to traders.
- Truck sourcing (factory orders, internal sales, trade-in, etc.).
- Truck Scrappage to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and ethical disposal practices.
Financial Management
- Budget and forecast inventory and asset-related expenses.
- Conduct financial analysis of the asset portfolio, incl. depreciation, devaluation, maintenance, storage, transport cost and ROI.
- Conduct regular evaluations to identify opportunities for cost reductions.
- Monitoring key metrics (profitability, utilisation, availability, etc.).
- Pricing (residual values, internal sales prices, refurbishment prices, reseller prices, etc.)
Analyse provided Data
- Measure derivation from reports for UE and rental fleets.
- Analyse data related to truck performance, demand, and market trends to inform pricing and inventory decisions.
- Provide insights and recommendations to senior management regarding asset investments, optimisation opportunities and budget planning.
- Monitor truck related key performance indicators (KPI), especially for UE and STR

Adaptable and proactive, they will work effectively both independently and across teams, confidently managing priorities, solving problems and building productive relationships with colleagues, suppliers and customers.
Essential Requirements
- FETAC level 7 Degree or similar in business or related sector
- Min 3 years’ experience in a similar role
- Fully computer literate with Microsoft packages, WORD, EXCEL, Outlook, Teams, CoPilot, CRM etc
Desirable Requirements
- Previous experience of working with SAP and or CRM package
- Experience within a forklift/plant/motor industrial products company
- Flexibility to work across regions where required
