An exciting opportunity has arisen within Jungheinrich Ireland for you to join our finance team as Health, Safety & Environment Advisor.
The Role
Working on all matters relating to safety, health, and environmental compliance, the primary responsibilities for this role include providing advice and support to management and staff on all matters relating to Health, Safety, Welfare, and Environmental compliance, maintaining and promoting robust HSE processes and contributing to a culture of safety and environmental responsibility. This role incorporates the following:
- Conduct regular site inspections, risk assessments and audits across multiple client locations across the island of Ireland.
- Develop, review and update site-specific safety documentation, including Safety Statements, Method Statements, and Risk Assessments.
- Lead accident/incident investigations, preparation of detailed reports, identifying root causes and recommendations for corrective actions.
- Promote preventative and remedial measures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Providing competent health and safety advice, training, and support to management and staff.
- Assist in maintaining HSE compliance with relevant legislation and industry best practices.
- Liaising with regulatory bodies, representing the company at customer sites as necessary and during inspections or audits.
- Promoting a proactive safety culture and continuous improvement across all areas.
The Person
Working in collaboration with the Head of SHEQ based in the UK, and the management team based in Ireland, we are looking for someone who is highly motivated, with expert organisation skills, well able to work on their own initiative, with an ability to influence at the highest level. Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience within a similar role and be able to demonstrate the following:
- Strong initiative with ability to work both independently and in a team.
- Be full familiar with all health and safety legislation and practical implementation
- Previous experience in developing and delivering health and safety training programmes
- Excellent communicator to all stakeholders
- Must be available to travel within the island of Ireland as required
- Demonstrate excellence in time management
In addition, the candidate must show proficient attention to detail skills, with knowledge and skilled use within the complete suite of HSE application.
Essential requirements:
- A recognised qualification in Occupational Health and Safety level 7 or 8.
- Minimum of 3 – 5 years post qualification experience.
- Proven competence in conducting workplace risk assessments and preparing safety statements
- Knowledge of construction health and safety principles
- Strong IT skills
Non-essential requirements:
- Accreditation or membership of a recognised related professional body
